National convention

The National Convention is the biggest Social event on the NFYFC Calendar. It takes place in either Blackpool or Torquay, and provides end-to-end bands, entertainers and discos. The National AGM is also held at the convention, as are the finals of the National Competitions programme.

Entertainment, competitions and meetings run from morning to night throughout the 3 days, with entertainment packages available to members. The convention is well organised and events are tightly marshalled. The weekend is geared to over 18s but 16- 18 year olds are welcomed to the convention, with parental consent and with an adult chaperone. Under 18s are 'wrist banded' differently from the over 18s so that they are identifiable and are prevented from purchasing alcohol.

Every year a large proportion of Surrey's senior members attend the National Convention and regard it as one of the highlights of the year. An elected Booking Officer organises accommodation and entertainment packages.
