  Junior Activity Weekends

Each year in June, Surrey YFC runs an activity weekend just for its Junior members. The weekends are run at different places from one year to the next, with different activities and themes, but the emphasis is always on learning new skills and having fun.

Pioneering. Junior activity weekend, 2002.

Weekends in recent years have included high ropes courses, survival skills, camping, go-karting, pioneering, raft building, orienteering, canoeing, wind surfing and lots of other fun stuff like discos and face painting.

Junior Activity Weekend, South of England Centre, Ardingly, 25th - 27th June 2004

Last year's Junior weekend was based around water activities on a Lake, so, using a small stretch of the imagination, we are calling it the Loch Ness Weekend (Loch being the Scottish name for Lake….just in case you didn't know!). And we are stretching things even further and building on the Scottish theme, so attendees will all be arranged into Clans and wearing Scottish colours for the weekend too!

Activities will include a night hike, kayaking, raft building, wind surfing, survival skills, drugs/alcohol education, canoeing, disco, crafts and sports. Accommodation is in the Stockman's Lodge at the South of England Centre, Ardingly. The cost is £30.

All Junior members are invited to attend, but places are limited to 40, so the first 40 applicants get the places. The cost is £30. Enquiries to County Office on 01483 769 786.
