Club Roles

Young Farmers Clubs are 'run by the members for the members'. The way this works is that club officers are elected every year at an AGM (Annual General Meeting) and they are responsible for all the major decision making that goes on in the club, from planning the programme to running meetings etc.

The main club officer roles are:
· Club Chairman & Vice-Chairman
· Club Secretary
· Club Treasurer

But some clubs elect other officers like 'Hosting Officers' to welcome and look after new members and 'Programming Officers' who help co-ordinate the club programme.

Clubs also elect members to represent them on the various County committees (see below)

County Roles

The Surrey Federation of Young Farmers Clubs (SFYFC) is run in a similar way to the clubs. Members run all the committees that run the county, with the support of Advisory (Adult) members.

The main County roles are:
· County Chairman & Vice-Chairman
· Development/F&GP (Finance & General Purpose) Chairman
· Competitions Chairman
· Cowpie Chairman.

The county also has representatives (Reps) on the South East Area regional committee and various national committees.
