Cowpie Competition schedule


OPEN COMPETITIONS

Class 18 - YOUNG STOCKJUDGE OF THE YEAR
Up to 8 places will go on to Ardingly.  Overall winner to go to Royal Dairy Event.
a) Competitors will be required to judge four rings of stock (4 Dairy Cows, 4 Butchers  Cattle, 4 Butchers Lambs, 4 Butchers Pigs) and each member will give Reasons on all four rings of  Stock.
b) Animals in each ring will be designated A, B, X, Y.
c) Competitors may be required to complete a simple multi-choice Animal Health and Husbandry Questionnaire (supplied by NFYFC).

Class 19 - STOCKMAN OF THE YEAR
Rules as Class 21.

Class 20 – CLUB EXHIBIT
First, second and third will be asked to re-create exhibit at Ardingly. 
Each Exhibit to depict the theme of “Re-use and Recycle”.  Each whole Exhibit to have a MAXIMUM WIDTH of 1 metre at any given point and a MAXIMUM DEPTH of 1 metre and MAXIMUM HEIGHT of 1 metre. Each exhibit to include one each of the following 5 items:

    1. Floral Arrangement
    2. A diary of a typical club meeting
    3. A club mascot
    4. A trophy made out of predominantly recycled material
    5. A photograph depicting life in your club

Extra items may be included to enhance the exhibit but only 1 sample of each of the specified 5 items are to be used. (i.e. 1 club mascot only, 1 trophy only etc).
There will be three sides to the exhibit which will be judged, members to provide backing to display. The exhibits will be displayed on trestle tables.
Any exhibit exceeding the maximum measurements will be disqualified. 

Class 21 – CLUB PROMOTION DISPLAY
Competitors to produce a 3D Club promotional display Size: maximum 1 metre cubed.  Promotional boards can be used.

Class 22 – CLUB SCRAP BOOK
First, second and third will go on to Ardingly. 
Clubs will be required to exhibit a scrapbook depicting events of the previous year.

Class 23 – DRESSING UP                                                    Approx. 2.15pm YFC Marquee
A team of two members.  One member to dress the other member, instruction will be given on the day.  Competitors are required to bring the following items:  five black bin liners, one roll of sellotape and two news papers.   Time allowed: 20 minutes.

Class 24 – LOG IT                                                                10.00am – 1.00pm
One team of 3 members per club.  Teams will be asked to use a timber crane to lift and move logs to predetermined place (varying in difficulty).
 
Class 25– RAISE THE FLAG                                                Main Ring 12.30pm-1.00pm
One team of 8 members per club to construct and raise flag, all materials will be provided.  Club colours must be worn.

Class 26 – MUSICAL PIT STOP                               
Main Ring 1.15pm-1.45pm

Based on Musical Chairs - Teams to supply own decorated car.  The car must remain in first gear whilst in the arena; also your club name must be shown on the driver’s side.  Cars must have doors and the driver must be a member or advisory member with a full driving licence.   Cars to be in holding bay by 9.30am.

Class 27– MYSTERY MAYHEM                               
Main Ring approx. 4.45pm

One team of up to 6 members per club to take part in a mystery race in the main ring.  Club colours must be worn.
